US judge in Takata personal bankruptcy halts lawsuits vs. automakers

A U.S. judge overseeing the personal bankruptcy of Takata Corp’s U.S. organization on Wednesday halted lawsuits for ninety days in opposition to automakers introduced by victims of its defective air bag inflators.

CHICAGO: A U.S. judge overseeing the personal bankruptcy of Takata Corp’s U.S. organization on Wednesday halted lawsuits for ninety days in opposition to automakers introduced by victims of its defective air bag inflators.

Takata asked for a 6-month keep of the lawsuits, arguing an injunction was needed so management could entire a US$1.six billion sale of the company’s practical functions to Key Security Methods and exchange air bag inflators that are subject to the biggest recall in automotive background. Key automakers which include BMW AG , Ford Motor Co , Honda Motor Co Ltd and Toyota Motor Corp argued in favor of the 6-month pause.
